Another Birthday!

Today is Samuel and Daniel's birthday! They are ten years old! I can hardly believe it. It just seems like yesterday I had them. They grow up so fast. Having the twins was the hardest and most wonderful thing I have ever done. They are smart, funny, and quite handsome if I say so myself. They can be a challenge too, oh the stories I could tell ya! But, they are truly a blessing in my life.

Yes, I know. Amanda's birthday was just last week. For some reason I decided to have my children's birthdays all close together and on a holiday weekend too! Just more fun to have! We will cookout and go swimming. Only this time the pool won't be as cold like at Amanda's party!

My camera has been not working properly is why I have not added new pics, but I hope to have that resolved soon. We need new pics!!

So, today I am going to enjoy my boys. We are going to Baskin Robbins for some birthday ice cream, and tonight we will watch Charlotte's Web (cause we just finished the book) and eat pizza. Dad is at work so we won't have the party until Sunday. The boys have been sick, but are well enough now I believe to enjoy the pool again. Keep them in your prayers please that the strep and pneumonia be all gone and stay gone! The strep keeps recurring and we are tired of it! Thanks.

Blessings,

Today

Today was stressful. I haven't been feeling well(sinus infection), and I had too many appointments. I hate days like this. Days like today just throw my schedule right out the window! That's not all. One of my sons was at a neighbors house playing with their little boy and obviously said some bad words. Why? Where did he hear those from? Could be from several sources actually,( like his uncle). But, it embarassed me. I do not raise them to talk or behave that way. I still do not have all the details and so I haven't punished him yet. Not sure how to punish for that. I am waiting til my husband comes home from work tomorrow morning to deal with it. Any suggestions?
Oh, and LuLu finally had her puppies today!! She had them while I was gone to an appointment, so Tabitha had to play midwife for her today. They are so cute! Want one?

Amanda's Birthday

Today was my daughter's 17th birthday. She had planned a pool party at my mom's house, but we had a cold front come through here and so the water was very cold and the wind was very chilly. She had the party anyway! You should have seen all these crazy kids swimming in this cold water! (I hope they dont get sick). We had pizza, cake and ice cream. They had a blast! I will post pics tomorrow, if I can find my camera cord that has disappeared!
It was a very good day.

Summer Boredom Solutions

Honestly I will be glad when ball season is over with. It has been fun and good for the boys, but it is time for it to be over! I am looking forward to more relaxed days as we head into summer. Aren't you?
The only thing about summer that I do not like, (besides the heat) is the cry of my children "Mom, we're bored!". My husband and I usually have a quick fix for boredom at out house. The kids know not to say they are bored or we will put them to work, thus losing the boredom. But, in the summertime I hate for them to be so miserable, but it is hard to keep six kids of various ages occupied and happy all summer. But, I have a plan for this summer. I have made a list of activities that I hope will help keep the kids busy and entertained this summer. Here is the list:

  1. Vacation Bible School (of course)
  2. One trip/wk to a park for a picnic and play
  3. Swimming in my mom's pool (anytime we want)
  4. Library day/wk summer reading program
  5. let the kids plant a little garden/make a sun flower fort
  6. make popsicles and/or homemade ice cream
  7. play in the sprinkler
  8. maybe have a craft day
  9. Camp out (even if its in the living room)
  10. Movie night each week or maybe a game night
  11. firefly catching contest
  12. fishing

How does that sound? What do you do for summer boredom? Any suggestions?

We also school during summer, so they have that too. I think we will have boredom whipped. I hope..lol

Mother's Day!

I hope that you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I did. My husband made me breakfast. After breakfast we went shopping for our mom's..(because my husband is a procrastinator) I bought my mom a hanging plant, and a Joyce Meyer book that she wanted. I bought his mom a hanging plant, and a pretty bird feeder. After shopping we went to see our moms. when we got home the older kids had cleaned the house and my husband gave me my gift. A bread maker! He knew I had been wanting one. And, that's not all. He then took me out to Chilli's for dinner! I loved it. It was a very good day. Oh, and I cant forget to mention that Tabitha made me a clay pinch pot and a card too. she is such a sweet momma's girl!
I hope you all were blessed as much!

Friday!!

I love Fridays! Especially when it's also payday! It was just me and the twins home tonight. All the older kids were gone. So, I bought them happy meals and me some Taco Bell! yum. Yeah, I know not very healthy. But, it was fun!
I wish LuLu would go ahead and have her puppies! she is moping around and following me where ever I go!! I cant leave the room without her right behind me. I guess it will be soon. I hope Amanda is here when she does though, because I dont want to play midwife with her!
I went to the doctor today. My blood pressure was up. It's because of all the decongestants I have been popping like candy trying to get help for all this sinus congestion. He didnt say too much about it. yet. I did get me some antibiotics though. Which is what I needed. Now maybe I will feel better soon!

Update on Sam and me

Well, Sam is better. Not well, but better. The last two days were rough though. His fever went to 103.5 and stayed there, it was a battle to get it down. But, today his temp is down (not normal but down) and you can tell he feels better. He is coughing badly though.
As for me, I have had a headache for 3 days now. I believe its a sinus infection. I dont do well with headaches. Hard to function. But, as I type this I do feel better.
So, that is our sickness update! Now for what else is going on here. My dog LuLu is expecting! She will be having little weenie puppies. I hope since she is a small dog that it will only be 2 or 3 puppies. I have 2 give away already.
I have been writing as some of you know. I have some projects being released this week at www.Donna-Scott.com but I cant talk about it in depth yet. But, I am excited. I will be writing on homeschooling, home keeping, marriage, and anything that us women do in our everyday lives. I hope it will be an encouragment to you.
I will post more later. Blessings to you all.

What a day!

I had to take Samuel to the doctor today. He has been complaining with a sore throat, chest hurting, coughing, and fever. I figured he had strep again, because he had just finished an antibiotic for strep. Well, I was right he does have step, but quess what else? He also has pneumonia! That is why his chest was hurting. So, we had to go have x-rays done of his chest (which confirmed everything). Then I had to go get his prescriptions filled. I got home and gave him his first dose of his antibiotic. About 30mins later he is vomitting it all back up. (sorry) He continues to be sick so I called the doctor back. The doctor calls in some phenegran for his nausea. So far, so good. He has had some chicken noodle soup and sprite and hasnt gotten sick. I hope he will continue to get better. That is not everything about today, but it would take too long to type it out and I am tired and have a headache. Please pray for us. Thanks.

Satan Hates Me

I have really been under a spiritual attack. My health, peace, and finances have all been hit. I feel this attack is because my family has undergone a spiritual revival. I have also been obeying God in my life and working on ministry efforts. Satan can't stand that of course! So, he attacks. Even though I know this to be an attack of the enemy, it is sometimes hard not to get wrapped up in circumstances and become depressed. So, I ask for your prayers as me and my family fight this spiritual warfare.
